We are delighted to announce that the Kit4Care Collaborative has won the Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award at the South West Business Awards!

Out of over 1,500 entries, Kit4Care stood out for its innovative and impactful approach supporting domiciliary care workers across Devon and the South West.
By equipping carers with our Whzan Blue Box this initiative has empowered them to play a proactive role in keeping people healthier at home - reducing hospital admissions, improving early detection of serious illnesses, and strengthening collaboration between health and social care services.
Revolutionising Care with Remote Monitoring Technology
The Kit4Care initiative, led by Care City, was rolled out in North Devon, Exeter, and the wider South West region, working with domiciliary care providers to improve access to healthcare and reduce pressure on GP surgeries and hospitals.
The Whzan Blue Box technology enables carers with no formal training to complete a comprehensive digital health check in a few minutes within the comfort of their client's home.
Carers measure vital signs, including blood pressure, oxygen levels, and temperature, and the Blue Box will automatically calculate the NEWS2 score developed and used by the NHS.
With this information, carers can quickly spot if health is deteriorating and provide clear, validated evidence using NEWS2 as a common language when calling a GP or NHS 111.
Life-saving
The judges of the South West Business Awards recognised the life-saving impact of this approach, stating:
"Kit4Care is a deserving recipient of this award, recognised for their innovation and significant impact on healthcare. Their pioneering remote monitoring technology has revolutionised domiciliary care, enhancing collaboration and improving outcomes for staff, providers, and members of the community. Notable successes include the early detection of sepsis, saving lives through timely medical intervention, and rapid treatment of chest infections, preventing further deterioration. Kit4Care exemplifies excellence in health and care innovation."

Together, we’ve seen first-hand the power of technology in transforming domiciliary care.
By giving homecare workers the tools and training to monitor health effectively, we’re helping prevent hospital admissions, reduce ambulance callouts, and ensure people can stay happy and healthier at home for longer.
