Whzan running Blue Box pilot schemes thanks to Innovate UK Grant

Whzan are delighted to be giving care homes around the country free one-year trials of the Whzan Blue Box. The pilot scheme is being run thanks to a grant from Innovate UK, as part of their commitment to supporting UK health companies during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We’ll be sending Blue Box units across the UK to give care homes the chance to experience the significant benefits it provides when it comes to carrying out thorough and accurate assessments for elderly patients.

This is especially crucial at this incredibly challenging time, with care homes being some of the institutions worst-hit by Covid – by nature of looking after some of the most vulnerable groups.

As well as providing carers with the tools they need to deliver the best possible care for their patients, the Blue Box will also allow them to keep them in their residence for longer and free up hospital beds.

On top of the Blue Box pilot scheme, the Innovate UK grant is also allowing us to accelerate development on our Covid assessment tool. This will enable carers and NHS staff to diagnose patients at the earliest possible opportunity – allowing them to save lives by taking action at crucial times.

At such a challenging time for healthcare professionals, we’re obviously extremely proud that Whzan technology can play a part in supporting them in delivering the highest standards of care. We hope that the wider use of the Whzan Blue Box will be a further boost to the fight against this deadly virus.

The first participants to receive their boxes include NHS Western Isles and NHS West Suffolk.

Following the popularity of the first phase of the pilot scheme, we are now looking to expand it and launch Phase 2.

If you are an NHS trust or CCG that would like to trial our Blue Box kits for an entire year, completely free of charge, please get in touch for more details.
